The february issue of our eMagazing, “The Pumpkin Press”, is out. This issue covers a topic that is hot. It helps get you started with producing your own video blog (or vlog, as they call it). What are the first things you need to commit to? What can you expect in return? Click the link at the bottom of this blog entry and you’ll find out. Don’t forget to continue visiting this blog for further info on this very topic. We will be covering it from all angles throughout the next few weeks; even months.

Plus, we found a very cool video on YouTube that dates back to 1981 and we placed it in this issue for your enjoyment. It’s a news cast that talk about the possibility of soon receiving your news through the phone. Can you believe that? LOL!

Enjoy: PumpkinPress – Feb Issue

Video blogging, vlogging as they call it, is a powerful topic this year.

The benefits can be huge! But the work that must go into them is just as huge – make no mistake. If you can stick it out for the long haul (more than 6 months), you’ll probably see some wicked cool results coming your way. You may even experience some doors opening you never even knew existed for you.

There is so much to talk about with this topic that I decided to dedicate this blog posting to be about where to post your web series or vlog. To learn more from me on this topic, check out my article in our “Pumpkin Press” magazine and enjoy my tutorials focusing on the topic of video at MyLeapTools.com. I’ll also post further blog entries on this topic throughout this year. Keep checking in from time to time.

First, the difference between a web TV series and a vlog (video blog) is simple. A vlog is self-recored video journal, posted on the net for public viewing, while a web TV series involves a more structured, profession (possibly studio recorded) look to it. A web TV series may also include commercials and sponsors.

Whether you have a vlog or a web TV series, where is the best place on the net to publish it? You might expect me to suggest publishing your videos on as many broadcasting sites as possible. But I wouldn’t recommend that at all. It’s a lot of work to manually publish a video, one at a time, to each site and you may not get nearly the viewing results that you are expecting.

Do your homework. Know where your specific audience is hanging out, on the net. It’s not about ‘going viral’. It’s about reaching your target audience on a consistent basis and making it easy for them to find you. With that said, you can never go wrong with the three primary video broadcasters;
Vimeo.com
YouTube.com
Facebook.com

There is a new video broadcasting site that is getting some attention and may be worth checking out. It is vidmeup.com – totally free.

Happy Vlogging! Call us anytime if you need further info, want some help getting started or need assistance producing a full on web tv series.

2011 was an amazing year and, with it, a lot has changed. We’d like to take a moment to thank Kevin Langdale for joining us as our animation and illustration artist. I’ve worked with Kevin for a few years now and am quite excited to have him aboard to work with our clients on their video animation needs. I’m a fan of his work and I’m loving the work he is already doing for some of our projects. Welcome aboard, Kevin!

You may have also noticed that we now have a new website. Wicked, isn’t it? I’m proud of it. It’s a work of love and pride. Come and visit it regularly. I’ll be posting some cool tips for video broadcasting and communications. Plus, I’m likely to throw in a link or two for some cool videos I find on the net.

Have fun exploring our site and call or email us anytime if you have any questions about video and online broadcasting.
